Who is responsible for your information?
Benny Balloon is operated by Ben Field, trading as Benny Balloon, based near Southampton, United Kingdom. Ben is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and through enquiries or bookings.
Email: benny@bennyballoon.com
Telephone: 07852 773395
What information is collected?
When you make an enquiry or booking, Benny Balloon may collect your name, email address, telephone number, event date and time, town or postcode, venue details, the age or ages being celebrated, approximate guest numbers, preferred package and anything else you choose to include in your message.
Correspondence, booking details, invoices and payment records may also be kept. Basic technical information may be recorded automatically by the website host for security and reliable operation, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and date or time of access.
The enquiry form is intended for adults. Benny Balloon does not ask children to submit personal information through this website.
Why is the information used?
- To answer enquiries and provide information or quotations.
- To take steps requested before a booking and to deliver an agreed booking.
- To communicate about timings, venues, access, payment and practical arrangements.
- To keep accounting, tax and business records where required by law.
- To protect the website and business from spam, fraud, misuse or legal claims.
The main lawful bases are taking steps before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations and the legitimate interests of operating and protecting a small entertainment business. Photographs, videos or testimonials identifying a customer or child are used publicly only where suitable permission has been obtained.
Marketing
Submitting an enquiry does not add you to a marketing list. Benny Balloon will not send promotional email or text marketing unless you have separately chosen to receive it. You can withdraw that choice at any time.
Who may receive the information?
Information is not sold. It may be processed by trusted providers used to run the business, such as website hosting, email, accounting, payment or IT support services. It may also be shared with an accountant, insurer, professional adviser, payment provider, public authority or law-enforcement body where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, Benny Balloon relies on the safeguards provided by the relevant service and applicable data-protection law.
How long is information kept?
Enquiries that do not become bookings are normally kept for up to 12 months so that follow-up questions can be answered and repeated enquiries understood. Booking, transaction and essential correspondence records may be kept for up to six years, or longer where required for tax, accounting, insurance or legal reasons. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably needed.
Cookies and third-party content
This website does not currently use advertising or visitor-analytics cookies. WordPress and the hosting service may use strictly necessary technology for security, administration and reliable operation.
The About Benny page includes an optional YouTube video. YouTube is not loaded until you choose the play button. When you do, YouTube may receive technical information and may use cookies or similar technology under its own policies.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful use.
To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, contact benny@bennyballoon.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
